Aerial Photos El Paso is a small photography business in El Paso, Texas. Although the business has only been comprised of a few experienced photographers since inception, their wide range of photography skills, including aerial photography, has set them apart from other photography agencies.
The lead photographer is Brian Kanof, a career photojournalist.
History
Brian's career accomplishments involves a timeline of change and adjustment. As a photojournalist in the late 60s, he eventually realized there was a demand for aerial photography. His start as an aerial photographer began in 1978, leading to the official introduction of his commercial studio in 1985.

The legacy and first assignment..
Aerial Photos El Paso has provided the Southwest with aerial photography since the late 70s. Their first aerial assignment was in Juarez Mexico to survey the second phase of the Juarez Industrial Park construction. Since that time, they have provided monthly aerial photography services for construction progress that include sites as far away as Kingman Arizona (Arizona State Penitentiary), Eagle Pass Texas, Chihuahua & Saltillo Mexico. Occasionally, there are as many as 10 active construction sites that were being documented and photographed simultaneously from the air, and usually on the 30th of every month.

- A member of PAPA (Professional Aerial Photographers Association International).
- Worked as the official photographer of the Sun Bowl Association (since 1967).
- Inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame.
- Hired as an aerial photographer for Pope Francis when he spoke to a crowd of 200,000 people in Ciudad Juárez Mexico, February 17th 2016.
- Served as a Reserve Officer in the U.S. Army for seven years as a Green Beret, receiving his commission in 1971.

Update
Brian Kanof passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 due to his battle with cancer. He was accompanied by his family and friends and will be remembered forever by all those who knew him and loved him. Brian moved to El Paso with his family upon his Father being stationed at Ft. Bliss in 1957 and then Rome, Italy in 1964.
Major Brian N. Kanof (Ret) was born in Portsmouth, VA on May 18, 1949, to Elsie Rawlson and Irving Lee Kanof.
